My History

***Basically this is the same as my page as Zack, the only thing I would add is that I am out as trans now and am doing readings as Rachel most of the time. Read on to know more about the actual tarot readings (I promise you, my gender identity is the least interesting thing about your reading)***

I’ve been reading tarot my entire adult life. I started with the Eye (then Eye of Horus) in 2006, became a full-time reader in 2013, and became owner of 3rd Eye Psychic Salon in 2023. In that time, I’ve read thousands of clients, and have done at least 12,000 readings. I have countless five-star reviews and have been on the cutting edge of tarot theory and practice. I bring a lifetime of education and experience, academic and magical degrees, and hard sense–both common and uncommon–to the table every time you cut the deck.

My System

I view the Thoth Tarot as my sixth sense organ–a physical and external appendage to my body of light–a telescope and microscope for my third eye–a focal lens for my psychic and magical abilities. The best way to describe my reading method is Intuitive Symbolic Pattern Recognition. You won’t see the Celtic Cross spread on my table! My unique axial system of Tarot uses groups of card positions as modules that plug into an axis of cards that anchor the subject through Past, Present, and Future. I have a one-size-fits-most base pattern that almost every reading is built upon. There are many variations of this base pattern that I have standardized in my system, to be able to explore things like love life and emotional connections, career and school, moving and healing and fighting and coping and loving… there is nothing in the human experience that I can’t read with my system. Each card of the Thoth Tarot has a myriad of symbols that carry endless meanings on many levels, and my vast experience allows me to draw from literally thousands of previous similar readings, which means that your reading will be more accurate, more helpful, and more relevant.

In addition to my mainline axial modular system, I also have what I casually call my check system: a meta system that runs integrated in parallel with your reading that allows me to check my accuracy, eliminate ambiguities, infer further detail, and basically have a structured conversation with my deck that tells me how to best read your pattern. My check system–formally called Overlay Integration–greatly minimizes the common error of reading the cards perfectly wrong. Quitting a job and dumping a partner can look very much the same to the untrained eye; my check system helps me tell the difference.

My Readings

You can come in with the intent to direct your reading–questions are welcome! If you have something vague or specific to ask, or a topic you’d like to address, an area of your life you’d like to focus on, a problem or choice or challenge or situation or goal or relationship or job or whatever: just lay it on me and I’ll use the appropriate modules and tags to lay out the cards as a map of your life.

You also don’t have to ask anything! A lot of people–especially first-timers–just want to cut the deck and let it ride, and I will read your base pattern. That way can be a little more vague but can also be more fun and profound. Some of my best readings in my career have been undirected, and some of my best regulars over the years started by just cutting the deck and seeing what my cards have to say.

I’ll go into my semi-trance state while I lay out your cards, and then we will go through your pattern, usually working from past to present to future. I tend to focus more and draw more cards on the present than the past, and more on the future than the present. We generally look forward, not backward. You can sit and listen, or jump in with questions and/or context if you want. 

My Philosophy

The Thoth Tarot is based on one singular idea: Do what thou wilt. Your own True Will, that reason you are here on Earth, that job you have to do, that magic you are to create, that fire of your soul–that is the core message. Obviously, not every situation begs some big existential question, and we can do Practical Tarot all day long. I’ll tell you how to deal with that jerk boss of yours, or what to expect from your spouse, or how your family will act, or whether that house is a good buy or not. Be prepared for the possibility that my cards will tell me that you will quit that job, get a divorce, cut off that family, walk away from that deal… if it is not your True Will. I think a lot of my job is helping people see the heartstrings and dependencies and obligations that are preventing them from evolving and growing and being happy and living to their full potential. So you might not hear what you wanted to hear, but it might be what you needed to hear. I try to be supportive emotionally and on your side, but I will always tell you the hard truth, even if it kills me a little to have to burst your bubble.

My Promise

I will try my hardest to not judge you. I will try my hardest to make sure you feel supported. I will respect your right to end a line of questioning or the reading itself. I will represent your cards accurately and I will disclose any bias that I may have, so that you know I’m reading your cards, not my opinion (I might tell you my opinion, but I will label it as such). I promise that I approach every reading with the goal of doing the best psychic reading you’ve ever had. And I promise you that I care, and that I’m here to help you, and that you’re in a safe place to be vulnerable. You may come out of your reading feeling raw and bleeding, or refreshed and cleansed, or energized and ecstatic, or depressed and despondent–I can’t promise to send everyone away happy. I can promise to send you home more aware of yourself and your environment, and more prepared for the future.
